wicked contest! just wondering if it's allowed to place the remix at your own myspace (so even you're not a winner, it's still a good opportunity to show your skills to others and worth the time spending on the remix...) anybody any info about this? j.

@j sure, it's allowed. the easiest way to do this is simply to make your track public on soundcloud and then embed the player widget directly on myspace.

i'm not sure if i'm being a tool here - but i can't seem to access the sign up for this contest - also what i seem to have found (in german) seems to read that the deadline date is in january not december -
could somebody clarify some of this for me please?

hi, need help. i am confused. i registered on soundcloud, then on jazzanova.de and uploaded my remix to dropbox on jazzanova.de. i can see my remix on my soundcloud account, but i can not see it on http://www.jazzanova.de/remixcontest. what did i wrong? is this tracklist refreshing periodically? how can i put my remix to tracklist on http://www.jazzanova.de/remixcontest?

thank you, i also noticed this: my remix is WAV 16bit/44.1khz format, but when i listen to this track from soundcloud, it sounds terrible. bad compression & decoding? i read somwhere on the web there is a bug in adobe flash player implemented in soundcloud so files with higher bits and samplerates sound worse than when you upload only 128kbit MP3. it is a little bit frustrating.

I'm a bit bummed out by the deadline extension... I nearly had a nervous breakdown trying to get this finished for today and then I logged in this morning to upload to see there's another month now. Oh well, more tweaking I suppose!

@arzach did you change the bitrate of the file now? it should generally sound much better if you upload the uncompressed file. this has nothing to do with flash as we do the mp3 encoding for flash on our servers, so the problem would then be there. i listened to your track now and it sounded good (as good as a 128kbps mp3 can sound, that is...)

thanks, eric, i must apologize, something wrong was on my side, not soundcloud, because when i reinstall the newest version of flash player in opera & explorer, it sounds all right. yes, i reupload my track with 128kbit MP3 version, but it does not matter probably if WAV or MP3, because what we hear is always 128kbit MP3.

Hi, I uploaded my remix of "I can see" something like one day ago. its not yet on the Jazzanova remix contest player, I know it can take some times but I can see(...) that there are songs which were uploaded like 30 minutes ago and are already on the player. - Can the jazzanovas miss some tracks? (I don't think so...) - At first, I didn't activate the "share" option, now it's done. Can it be a problem? thanks!

Hi again, I have deleted my remix and add a better sounding one. The first upload was a compressed MP3 and the compression made the track sounding not good at all. So I have uploaded a new one which is an AIFF 44,1/16 form. I have activated the share option. I think it should be good now. isn't it?

I started in the jazzanova website and I have selected the dropbox on their website. Then, the track appears in my soundcloud page. I have received a confirmation mail with a link to activate. What I did, so I guess I'm good? If I have to drop in the box in the "jazzanova contest soundcloud page", I don't know how to do it!

Hmm...I registered a SoundCloud account last week to participate in this contest, and both then and today I have been denied access to register for the contest. I put quite a bit of work into my remix and am kind of disappointed that the Jazzanova site is improperly programmed. It tells me I need to "get a SoundCloud account first." I already have one, and am using the same email address!

Maybe you need a remix/contest tab on the site, or something similar, to make it easy for people to find out about this and future contests.
