Nice! I love the drop shadow drop down menus, and the nav bar buttons curved corners render well in Chrome. Oh never mind its an optical illusion, because the sky blue color does not have extreme contrast against the background blue to white gradient. But yeah you cant even see the harsh pixels unless you look close. Anyways, the nav is amazing! Excellent job ! Just gets better all the time :) Groups is great to for collab organization. More options make it better. I wonder if there could ever be too many options. Later!

I'm a PRO user and still not satisfied with Soundcloud. Whenever i share a track with somebody they don't get a notification.
I own a mastering service and i'm an executive producer working with international artists and labels, and Soundcloud made me look like an ass on many occasions.
If i share a track, people should be notified, or else its completely useless to me. A complete waste of time and money this service has been to me.
I'm back to using regular upload services no more Soundcloud for my business, other then maybe the widgets that actually work on blogs etc.

This happened to me once when I tried to share a track. I had to ultimately send the person a link. On the other hand I have had a lot of tracks shared with me by my friends and I always get an email. Perhaps this is affecting only certain user accounts??

After this update, the interface is completely unusable for me, lacking in speed. And my 2.8ghz P4c cpu is now constantly using 50% of the cpu (1core + HT) doing nothing. I know my computer isn't fast, but normally fast enough for Internet surfing, and before this new update, also smooth and fast navigating around in the Dashboard.
Simply said, its that bad that I can't use SC anymore, because of the GUI slugginess. Writing this topic entry is all fine, no 50% cpu usage. But as soon as I go back to the Dashboard, its bad :(

Just logged into SC again, and seeing the same problem today. I thought, that it might could be Firefox 3.011 that did something wrong. But again, I'm seeing a 50% cpu usage in my task manager, doing nothing in the Dashboard.
My Internet connection shouldn't be a problem... 6mbit down / 384kbit up.
Personally I think, that SC has made the new update on a Core 2 duo like or faster computer, and forgot all about the people than are using older computers, or am I wrong?! Then the new update probably is running fine. But I can't figure out, why the sudden big raise in cpu usage is there, when the previous update was working smoothly on my old setup. I guess they've made a lot differently behind the scene. But really not usable for me unfortunately :(

No, I haven't tried soundcloud on another computer yet, as I only have this P4 comp in house for Internet use. I also have a Intel quad Q6600 computer I use for music, but its not connected to the Internet.
I just wrote down some percentage values from the different SC views. How much cpu usage SC takes in the XP task manager doing nothing:
I don't know how the numbers looked before the update. But as said, I think that SC has made things work smoothly on newer computer systems. And if you are a little outdated as I'm with an old P4C computer, thinks can be very bad. But I don't like the fact, that SC was working smoothly on my setup before the new update. So I guess it much be one pretty heavy update in terms of whats made differently behind the scene, or... something isn't done right or is running right.
I'm having no problems surfing around on the Internet on other Internet pages, fast and smooth. But the minute I enter the SC pages, things goes from good to bad in speed.
My computer setup:
- P4C (2.8Ghz 1core + HT) - 2GB DDR mem - Gfx: Geforce FX5200 - Windows XP SP2 - Kaspersky Internet security 2009 - Firefox v3.0.11 - Internet connection: 6mbit/384kbit

I think the easiest solution for both is to include a switch for "light cpu's" showing the needed items only and "heavy cpu's" enabling all gimmicks whistles and bells...
A customizable menu wouldn't be bad either but, let's not haunt the programmers :D

Are any of you using an older computer for browsing, for example a P4C computer like mine (6-8 years old). Great for Internet normal html/flash Internet surfing, like Myspace, Facebook, youtube... I'm asking, as none of you is complaining about speed issues with the new update (please read by previous entries to this blog). I think I'm alone on these speed problems, which is very bad and irritating to work with :-)

It's possible to hide the tracks shared by people we don't follow because my dashboard is really slow now and my computer too... I'm following more than 200 artists so I can't listen more tracks... It would be great choosing if we want to see or not the tracks uploaded by people we don't follow. Excuse me for my english... and thanks in advance, Arno

Agh... these changes are a real pain in the ass as a label. The dropbox was brilliant because it was a simple way for artists to get me their music, and a very easy for me to access it straight away. Now I can't tell the difference between a normal private track (which I simply ignore) and a demo for the label.
Please bring back the dropbox. This site is useless for labels like mine without it.

Yes. But here's a suggestion: Under "Tracks" in the navigation, you've got "From people you follow" and "From others". Why not simply add "Shared only to you". Such a filter would effectively act as a Dropbox.

not a fan of this change...as a label who recieves literally dozens every day of "privately" shared tracks sent to 2000 people at the click of a button, it takes away from those sending their music specifically to *us* and makes our dashboard overwhelmingly cluttered

At least with the dropbox it was seperate from the people you were following, now its just as bad as myspace etc... fix it or I think you'll lose the following on the site.

i'm not sure if its relevant to this release, but for about a week now MY DROP BOX HASN'T WORKED!? the main reason for me getting soundcloud, for producers to send tracks, the dropbox is the best way for djs to recieve private tracks 24/7, now for nothing? i know its changed abit, but all my tracks in there suddenly dissapeared, and people have messaged me sayin theyve uploaded tracks to me privately and even 5 days later, nothing....

upon reading eric's reply to jesse, i now have all the tracks previously in myprivate dropbox, but still the tracks people have uploaded in the last week are not there. tbh i did not expect them to be as i have not recieved notifications for them, but why? people have even uploaded tracks multiple times, and resorted to another private file hosting site after days of trying...
