I like it but would suggest you add a show less button as well for the groupings. Once you have unfolded a group one might want to fold it back. The other thing I don't really like is the fact that the contextual menu "go to in player" is always on the right side and not where the mouse pointer is. Other than that great redesign!

couldn find the artist name or uploader of the tracks in my favorites. love the new trackview and the buttons. all white bg makes it a little "unübersichtlich" ;)
the positioner goes further to the left then it should (if you dont hit the play button) found that on safari and firefox

hmmm, I like that you keep working to improve it, but I'm not as into the new design...

one particular quirk irks me a bit - I don't think I can remove individual items from my dashboard feed, only full groups. I like to go through those items one at a time, so the groups cause more clutter, rather than removing it as was the intention.

could you highlight the track currently playing in the dashboard? if playing a small icon related to a friend's comment, it is really easy to lose track of the song currently playing.

also, if it's possible to implement, it would be nice to have some statistic linked to the track on people who had favourited it, even as a private statistic this would be interesting

it's okay. i liked the previous design because it seemed easier to scan and read comments posted by others. Umm now it's as if the comments are floating in space and lack definition. Perhaps what I'm trying to say is I liked the definition the text boxes had in the previous version. Also it was nice to have a header on each persons profile vs. moving their info to the side (Not a big deal, but the artist should have a little area to their selves shouldn't they?)

I could say more, but that's all for now. It's your site and I love it regardless.

I think I found out what's bothering me. I also liked the larger Icons showing if someone is choosing to follow, comment, etc. it made it easier to scan which made it user friendly... k I'll stop being a bitch now.

Hi there,
just to say that would be great if I could see the 'Follow' tab on the left top of each user's photo as before so that I know which are the users that recently added me ,1st of all to check them out ....it's a large amount of followers or people we follow and some of them are using names such as SJHDAL255,ad2sgah etc :) ....impossible to remember and track who added you recently.

I like some of the new work. The contrast, smaller buttons + redesign is pretty nice.

But I'm still confused a bit about the dashboard, the way the rows/records a presented and separated. There is practically no background colour difference (all white), and there is only a few thin faded separator lines between each grouping or entry. This makes it confusing to look at, as all data is soft of "flying" in the air. There is not really anything gluing the information on the dashboard together for the user.

And why is waveforms from a certain users not grouped together with the comments from the same user? Comments are grouped in two levels (root, 1. sub level for comments), and waveform data is presented in the root level and in a new record separated by thin line.

Personally, I think colouring the background of the grouped information would make it more easy to separate the different users. And then I would think of somehow to fold and unfold the groupings (option in the preferences setup, if it should be folded or not per default), so that you could have even more user info on the screen at the same time. But I guess it could be hard making this real, as the users somehow should be aware of the different types of data that is in the group, if it is folded.

I like the comment grouping in the dashboard, it defiantly helps clear up some clutter, good idea. New waveform display looks sharp.

i can no longer skip forward through a track to see if it's something i am interested in. this was a very important feature to me. i was really bummed when i discovered that.

Even when the track is loaded I can only skip backwards and not forwards. I could in the old version and this is an important function.

Okay Eric, a few things I have noticed:

1 - The small orange play button on the dashboard feed is capable of playing music at the same time as a soundcloud player open in a different tab. This gets confusing and redundant when browsing between the dashboard and artists. Shouldn't one stop when the other starts?

2 - The new search feature does a better job at finding things, but I liked how the old one ordered search results by the most recent posts. It was a good way to ensure fair exposure to everyone, generate traffic and comments on recent releases, and a great way to browse for new artists/songs not on the dashboard. Whereas with the new search, the same few tracks get the majority of plays and the newer songs are buried randomly on pages X Y and Z.

It would be beneficial to have search options and ways to order the results (most/least plays, most/least comments, newest/oldest, etc.)

Keep up the good work!

And i think for the new design and colors (loved the old design) it's all about habit and practice..

But, here in OSX, i cant SELECT ALL (or remove all) people i would sharing a private track, the buttom doesnt work..

I appreciate the workflow changes (groupings etc.) but I really think it a branding error to move so far away from the aesthetic of the previous design. The pages look very clinical as opposed to warm and inviting. Also, the visual identity is ALOT less coherent and much more generic. Lastly, moving the descriptiuon away from the icon/phot makes the presentation of the information much less effective. It is not as noticeable, the space is too narrow making the sentence break weirdly.

Overall, despite the changes to workflow (some of which make a lot of sense), I really think the redesign is moving in the wrong direction. You've removed important elements of the SoundCloud visual brand.

The current position marker in the player is red, and the loaded data is orange. You can't really pick it out too easily.

2 questions:
1. do embeds have the same new look as the player on the soundcloud site? my embed hasn;t updated...do I have to get a new embed code?

2. is it possible to un-hide the download link (currently hidden under 'all actions', which isn't very intuitive for your basic internet user.

No! I don't like it! The older one looked better, and was probably slower but what ever. The search engine is soooooo much worse! I'm sorry but I have to say it. A simple dubstep search comes up with the most popular dubstep songs, not the newest songs like it used to.

Is there any way a user can choose which dashboard presentation they prefer? I use SC mostly for sharing and commenting on privated WIPs and the new dashboard system makes it easy to miss comments and new tracks (especially if I don't come online for a while). I like the new presentation, but it doesn't fit my flow..

Quick question - do plays on widgets (such as the facebook app) count towards your total plays as listed on the main site?

Also, it would be good if soundcloud allowed you to make a distinction between the username and the artist name, especially for things like remixes. Plus some people use a different artist name to their username, so at the moment it's a little confusing. Especially on facebook where it currently lists tracks as <Trackname> by <Username>

and yes, the username/artistname/link dilemma is something we're thinking about. we now only have one (the username) that automatically turns into artist name and link but we realize this might not be enough.. stay tuned for changes in this area.

I was following you guys for a minute then kind of lost track from about March - May, but the site does look really good. Going through a redesign for a site we run I know it's rough to workout all the bugs right away, but I think your site looks great now and I didn't see anything that would be a bug on my short time here.
